If the Slurpee isn’t enough of a reason to tempt you into swinging by your local 7-Eleven, maybe a limited edition Simpson’s inspired Buzz Cola or KrustyO’s cereal box will spark your curiosity. To build buzz around the July 27th opening of “The Simpsons Movie”, 20th Century Fox and 7-Eleven Corp’s latest promotional campaign brings to life products that until now only existed on TV. Unfortunately, Duff’s Beer will not be part of the reverse product placement since the movie is rated PG-13.
According to the Associated Press, 7-Eleven’s Ad Agency, Freshworks (Omnicom Group) brought this concept to life hoping it would ignite some humor into the brand. While no confirmed budget was revealed it was quoted that the partnership was somewhere in the single millions.
